Introduction

The De'Longhi KG79 Coffee Grinder is an "electric burr" coffee grinder. It's job is to take your beans and grind them into a powder for use in other machines, or to brew another way.

At first glance it's a compact and discrete box that will comfortably hide away in most kitchens.

Controls

There is a knob on the front of the machine that allows for the size of the grind to be adjusted.

Adjust the coarseness of the grind using this knob.

In our tests the knob was reasonably accurate, and did grind to what you would expect.

The only thing worth mentioning here is how fine the grinder is able to get to. If you want an extremely fine powder then the De'Longhi may disappoint, but for 99% of coffee drinkers the level it gets to is more than acceptable.

Capacity & Design

The KG79 comes with a sizeable bean container and a ground coffee container. The bean container can hold 120g of beans, which is about half a standard bag. It can grind enough coffee for multiple cups in one session, making it convenient for when you're serving guests or just prepping several cups for your day.

De'Longhi is known for its attention to aesthetics and the KG79 is no exception. Its sleek and functional design means it won't just be a tool, but also an accessory for your kitchen.

Safety

Worth noting that the coffee grinder does come with some safety features.

If you remove either the bean container or the powder container the grinder will automatically shut off, which effectively means it's a sealed unit.
